Defra (the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) has today (22nd January 2015) confirmed that it will maintain its investment of £2.3m in the ACRE Network for 2015/16.
Community Action Suffolk’s deputy chief executive, Chris Abraham, said, “This is good news for our organisation and the nationwide ACRE Network of rural community councils. We would like to thank everyone who showed their support for rural communities and the work we do.”
Thank you to all CAS members and contacts who signed the petition to raise the issue of rural funding being under threat, over 13,000 signatures were added.
