East of England Coop is delighted to have been able to present four local charities, which support volunteering across our region, with a share of £14,000 thanks to funds raised at the annual Co-operative Retail Trading Group’s (CRTG) Supplier Awards Dinner.
Community Action Suffolk is delighted to be one of the recipients and a cheque was recently presented to Janice Banks, interim Chief Executive of CAS (pictured right). Janice said:
“We’re very pleased that the importance of volunteering has been recognised with this generous donation from the Co-operative Retail Trading Group. This will allow us to continue promoting volunteering in Suffolk and its positive effects on our communities. This award is particular timely as CAS has been leading on the development of a Volunteering Strategy for Suffolk, which we will develop in 2016.”
The four charities to benefit were:
Voluntary Norfolk
“Voluntary Norfolk promotes, supports and develops volunteering and the work of voluntary organisations, encouraging recognition and understanding of the value of the sector in the achievement of individual well-being and an inclusive and fair society.” www.voluntarynorfolk.org.uk
