Community Action Suffolk (CAS) is delighted to announce that Peter Richardson has been appointed its new Chief Executive, with Kerry Evans joining as Head of Finance.
Peter succeeds Janice Banks, who has been CAS’s interim Chief Executive since November 2015. Peter will start his new post on 8 August 2016, with Kerry starting on 11 July 2016.
Peter is currently the UK Director for Carers Trust, a charity providing infrastructure services for a network of 160 care services charities. His experience and knowledge will be a great asset to both CAS and Suffolk, as will Kerry’s who joins from the Seckford Foundation.
Peter said: “I am very much looking forward to starting work with CAS. Having lived with my family in Suffolk for nearly thirty years I have seen and experienced first-hand the benefits that local charities bring to the community and I am passionate in supporting their growth and development. I’d also like to offer a big thank you to Janice for all her work during the last year.”
These appointments conclude a number of internal changes at CAS, including a staffing restructure which will place CAS in a better position to continue to support Suffolk and its communities. Janice Banks said:
“I am delighted that Pete and Kerry are joining CAS. Together with Chris Abraham, Director of Community Services, they will form a very strong top team to lead CAS through the next stage of its development. In addition, the new appointments to our Board, including our new Chair, Stephen Javes, places CAS in an excellent position to help and support the voluntary and community sector in Suffolk.
The staff restructure has been a difficult process for all CAS staff to go through, but we’re confident that the result is a stronger organisation and a talented team that is ready to handle future challenges.”
