The CAS Quality Standard is an award which your organisation can work towards to demonstrate its effectiveness and efficiency, launching on 1 December 2016.
The CAS Quality Standard endorsed by Suffolk County Council and the Suffolk Local Safeguarding Children Board. It is externally assessed by the Quality Standards Awards Panel comprised of Community Action Suffolk, Suffolk County Council Commissioning and the Suffolk Local Safeguarding Children Board. It was developed in 2005 by VCSE sector organisations, for VCSE organisations.
Jacqui Wilkinson, Training and Quality Standard Development Officer at CAS said:
“We’re excited to be launching the new CAS Quality Standard for 2017. By completing the process, organisations will show that they have the skills, policies and procedures in place to be a safe, well run provider of services. The process is now managed completely online, with support and feedback given at regular stages along the way.
“We are also introducing an Organisation Self-assessment process. This reflects the same benchmarks as the Quality Standard, but organisations can work through this in their own time without any external assessment or accreditation.”
The CAS Quality Standard has been used by over 160 organisations, which have seen improvements in confidence, resilience and efficiency. One recent organisation to be awarded the CAS Quality Standard is Christian Youth Ministries. Director, Simon Scott, said:
“Completing the CAS Quality Standard has been a thorough but rewarding process. It has helped us to ensure that we are up to date with the organisation of our charity and policies and it is a good way to show to our supporters and donors that we take a professional and safe approach to our work with children and young people. The support from the CAS team during the process was excellent.”
