General Data Protection Regulation exists to protect an individual’s personal data. GDPR was adopted on 27 April 2016 and becomes enforceable from 25 May 2018.
Your voluntary organisation or charity is highly likely to be collecting individuals’ personal data (either electronically or physically), therefore GDPR will affect you and you must be compliant by 25 May 2018.
Surveys have shown that small organisations are generally under-prepared for GDPR.
Community Action Suffolk is working in partnership with Prettys, a local firm of solicitors, offering a Masterclass to “Be prepared for GDPR” to the voluntary sector in Suffolk. You will learn how GDPR applies to you and how to comply with it when it comes into force.
