We are delighted to announce that bookings are now open for the first Community Action Suffolk conference for 2018, “Stronger charities for a stronger Suffolk” on Wednesday 7 February 2018.
Following the publication of the House of Lords Select Committee on Charities report in March 2017 (Stronger Charities for a Stronger Society), we have decided to bring the report to life in a practical way here in Suffolk.
Speaking at the conference will be Colin Noble (leader of Suffolk County Council), Karl Wilding (Director of Public Policy, NCVO) and Baroness Ros Scott (House of Lords Select Committee on Charities).
Baroness Pitkeathley, Chair of House of Lords Select Committee on Charities, said:
“Charities are the eyes, ears and conscience of society. They mobilise, they provide, they inspire, they advocate and they unite. From small local organisations run entirely by volunteers to major global organisations with turnover in the hundreds of millions, their work touches every facet of British civic life.”
