‘If you see, or hear something that makes you worried about a person’s safety or welfare, say something’
Your role as a volunteer or employee means that you could see or hear something that means someone needs help as they are at risk or in danger. If you see or hear something then say something, do not keep it a secret.
CAS has developed and collected a range of helpful and relevant safeguarding resources and information below for your use. These resources are particularly related to the Covid-19 situation. A full range of other safeguarding resources can be found on the main safeguarding page.
Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility. If you are working with children, young people and/or adults at risk of abuse Community Action Suffolk can support you to develop an appropriate understanding of the risks to their safety and how to manage these.
Community Action Suffolk has wide ranging knowledge and experience of delivering safeguarding training and providing policy and procedural guidance. You will also find links on how to access 1 to 1 safeguarding support to guide you through embedding safeguarding in your organisation and/or improving your safeguarding policy and procedure.
This part of our website is for voluntary groups who are responding to the Covid19 pandemic.During these unprecedented times it is vital that we respond to your needs and help you to help your community. So whether you are a new community group that has formed to respond to Coivid-19 or an existing group or organisation that is carrying out new activities then there are resources for you.
We like to think of managing volunteers in terms of it being a journey. There are 4 simple stages to this journey Plan, Recruit, Support and Impact. If you have set up a Covid-19 community response group, you have probably zipped through these stages within a couple of weeks and not had time to plan or think about how you will support your volunteers. This page of our website is full of useful information.
These pages are to support local charities, community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises on issues relating to coronavirus. Links to resources and information including webinars.

Other useful resources
Their purpose is to work together and make sure there are arrangements for safeguarding people with care and support needs and act to minimise risk of harm and adopt a zero tolerance to abuse and neglect. Safeguarding is more than protection. It also means protecting the safety, independence and wellbeing of children and adults with care and support needs.
Human beings should live free from abuse, harm, exploitation and neglect.
