There are various organisations offering a range of support to Ukraine Guests both locally and nationally.
We have provided information for some of these below.
Suffolk Refugee Support
Suffolk Refugee Support are an independent charity based in Ipswich. They give practical support to refugees and asylum seekers in Suffolk. They can support with many things such as form filliing, benefits information and employment support. Please note that they cannot support Ukraine guests with housing queries or finding new hosts.
Barnados
Barnados are a national charity. They have set up a dedicated Ukraine Support Helpline.
The Helpline is available to anyone fleeing the war in Ukraine.
Get in touch if you need support with:
- Therapy with a qualified psychotherapist – delivered via the phone or online, with access to interpreters
- Advice on a range of issues e.g., housing, accessing key health services, education, employment and more via our trained helpline support workers
- Practical support – access to digital devices to ensure families stay connected to loved ones during this worrying time, as well as stimulating toys for children, vital baby items and more (subject to demand)
All services include access to interpreters in Ukrainian and Russian
British Red Cross
British Red Cross is a national charity who provide a variety of services for Ukraine guests and their families.
Opora
Opora is a charity supporting Ukrainians to settle and sustainably rebuild their lives in the UK. They were founded at the outbreak of the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and offer a variety of information, including benefits, housing and mental health support.
