25 Ipswich groups came together for a buzzing networking event at Brightspace on Thursday 25 February 2016.
A wide range of organisations attended, from well-established Ipswich organisations such as St. Elizabeth Hospice, Terence Higgins Trust and ActivLives, to those we welcomed for the first time: Basecamp Mentoring Suffolk, Yum Yums Cookery School and Oyster Community Press. Everybody shared what they are up to and their goals for 2016, inspired each other and discussed opportunities to work together.
Julie Rose, Grants Officer from Suffolk Community Foundation, gave a fantastic overview of grants currently available to Ipswich groups and highlighted a new grant, The Children & Young People’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing Fund, backed by West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group, Ipswich and East Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group and Suffolk County Council. Applications for the first round of this grant close on 11 March 2016.
As well as everybody making lots of new links, attendees were given an overview of crowdfunding by CAS and how this has been used successfully in Suffolk so far. Attendees also fed into the Suffolk Volunteering Strategy, which is out for consultation at present.
As this event was busy and oversubscribed, we recommend that you book your place for our next networking event on Tuesday 26 April 2016, book your place below!
