Community Action Suffolk is delighted to have been presented with funding from the Working Together award.
The award was presented to the Sport & Event Volunteering project, in recognition of exceptional collaborative working. The award is recognises the achievements of the project to date and the various partners that CAS has worked with in order to achieve success.
Councillor Sarah Stamp, Suffolk County Councillor’s Cabinet Member for Communities is pictured here presenting the cheque for the award to Community Action Suffolk along with Andrea Pittock, Suffolk Community Foundation’s Grants Manager.
Councillor Stamp said: “I have visited and been privileged to present some fantastic awards to community groups across Suffolk who have shown exceptional collaborative working.”
CAS will invest the funding into developing the following areas:
- Family Volunteering: providing opportunities for families to spend time together through suitable volunteering opportunities. It will remove the divide between volunteering vs leisure / family time that has been shown to exist.
- Reducing Isolation for vulnerable / isolated adults through volunteering: working with particular community groups as well as individuals supporting them to engage in volunteering activities.
This fund is financed by Suffolk County Council and managed by Suffolk Community Foundation offering awards up to £10,000 to charities, community groups and not for profit organisations working in Suffolk.
It aims to recognise initiatives where either:
- A number of organisations (Voluntary, Public and/or Private Sector) have worked together to achieve more than they could have achieved on their own;
- A number of people from a community have come together to achieve something that has a positive impact on the wider community.
