When the pandemic hit, the Hub adapted fast. They kept in close contact with customers who could not attend the hub by phoning them and providing outreach in the community. They asked customers to send in pictures of what they were up to at home, too, and sharing them on social media was a great way to keep everyone connected.
When it came to Zoom, the Hub first dipped their toe in the water with their young Night Hub customers. It meant that the customers who could not attend the Night Hub session could still join in and enjoy chatting to friends. The Hub’s so pleased that they set this up, because during the third lockdown the Night Hub went online only – but they can’t wait to get back to real sessions as restrictions ease!
The Hub also used Zoom to connect with customers shielding at home, and to communicate between ‘bubbles’. Not only that, but they provided additional outreach support to help their customers use the Alcove Care Phone to help keep in touch with friends and family while isolating at home.
There were several activities that took place online, too, including Ace Anglia Health and Wellbeing meetings, chair-based exercise, Wikid Music sessions, Suffolk People First and Musica Community Concerts!
With all this is place, the Hub managed to carry on supporting their customers – even through a truly challenging year.
