When working with and supporting young people it is important we upskill ourselves all the time. The youth focus team are fully funding the Compassionate and sensitive conversations training being hosted by St Elizabeths Hospice.

Learning Outcomes – Sensitive Conversations

1. Participants will identify the importance of having open and honest conversations with young people to offer support and guidance tailored to their individual needs.

2. Participants will identify ways to provide young people with opportunities to explore a range of life changes and the feelings associated with these changes.

3. Participants will gain confidence in initiating sensitive conversations using the skills learned during the session.

4. Participants will discover effective ways to talk to young people about loss, including death and dying, to provide comfort and clarity.

5. Implement strategies to support and prepare children when facing the potential loss of a loved one.
