The Community Sport Restart Programme is focused on supporting the sport and physical activity sector to operate in a Covid-safe way. Community sport clubs, organisations, groups and volunteer led participatory sporting events are encouraged to apply for funding via the Suffolk Community Restart Fund.
Access to the Community Restart Programme has been widened to help organisers of participatory community sports opportunities and events to run activities in a covid safe way. This widening of the programme recognises the significant role that sports opportunities and events makes to the physical and mental health of the population and their importance to maintaining the viability of sports clubs, groups and organisations across the county.
The Community Sport Restart Programme is focused on supporting the sport and physical activity sector to restart activities and to operate in a Covid-safe way. Volunteer-led and charitable community sport clubs, organisations, groups and participatory sporting event organisers are encouraged to request support and apply for appropriate funding via the Suffolk Community Restart Fund.
Through this additional support, organisations and organisers will be able to access one to one guidance and support from an independent event specialist to help them to produce a specific risk assessment, and if required, access funding to support the event to operate in a Covid-safe way.
Organisations can receive support for everything from reactivating regular sessions, ensuring sustainability in the post pandemic environment and specialist advice on participatory sporting events such as park runs, swimming galas, tournaments and sports festivals.
