It’s possible you didn’t! So we are running a number of welcome evenings to promote our Sport & Event Volunteer Project.
Who is the event for?
Event Organisers, how can you make the most of our 450 volunteers who are ready and willing to help out at your event?
Volunteers, would you like to join our 450-strong team who help out at Suffolk’s events?
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never volunteered before, if you just want to try it, or want to do even more volunteering!
The Sport & Event Volunteering Project has already supported a wide range of organisations to recruit volunteers throughout Suffolk. With 450 volunteers registered with the project, the next step is to work with local communities to develop further opportunities to volunteer.
What will happen at the welcome evening?
The Sport & Event Volunteer Project Welcome Evening is designed to bring together volunteers and event organisers to promote ‘best practice’ in volunteering. The evening will allow participants to share experiences in volunteering and develop a better understanding of the Sport & Event Volunteering Project (county-wide project).
The event is open to people of all ages and experience. The project covers a range of events including ‘one-off events’, ‘regular club based volunteering opportunities’ as well as project based (up to 6 months) opportunities. There will be an opportunity for networking and discussions around volunteering opportunities at a local level.
