Community Action Suffolk is creating a number of new networks, to enable Suffolk’s voluntary and community groups to come together both virtually and face to face.
These networks are based on specialist areas of work, as well as different geographical areas of Suffolk. CAS hopes that bringing people together will allow communities to flourish, connecting staff and volunteers so they can develop and grow professionally.
A programme of local networking events begins in Ipswich on 25th February 2014, but will visit all corners of Suffolk throughout the year. These events will offer the chance for groups and colleagues to meet each other, discuss issues, listen to presentations and receive one-to-one advice.
Chris Abraham, deputy Chief Executive at Community Action Suffolk, says, “We’re excited to bring Suffolk’s voluntary sector closer together. We hope to encourage partnership and collaborative working, improving services by sharing ideas and good practice. This can lead to influencing and impacting the local agenda and meeting the needs of communities with improved quality services.”
