The ACRE Network of specialist advisers for village halls and similar community buildings will hold their annual training event in Peterborough. ACRE is pleased to announce that Norris & Fisher (Insurance Brokers) Ltd and Ansvar Insurance will, once again, be the main sponsors.
On 23/24 April advisers from 33 counties, will share their knowledge and best practice, from Kent and Cornwall in the south of the Country to Cumbria and Northumberland in the north.
The mini market place for suppliers of goods and services to village halls will give the event a buzz. ACRE is grateful to HAGs, Booking Spaces, Cameo Curtains, Utility Aid, Defib Store and Community Re-Paint for supporting the event.
Deborah Clarke said “the volunteers who manage these buildings need specialist support, which demands time, expertise and money. Our Network of advisers is working hard to maintain this service against a backdrop of rapidly reducing funding for professional support organisations. The annual training event is a great opportunity for the advisers to get together and share ideas about how to help village halls survive and thrive”
The annual training event is in its 19th year with organisation of the programme being the responsibility of advisers from the East of England. Day one focuses on the new GDPR regulations as well as a Fire Risk Assessment session from Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service. Ansvar Insurance will help delegates understand health and safety from their perspective. Day two focuses on constitutional structures and we are pleased to welcome representatives from the Charity Commission and BWB Solicitors.
