Community Action Suffolk has launched its latest programme of training courses, including a new, accredited course for volunteers with the National Open College Network (NOCN).
Volunteers can gain a nationally recognised qualification for the experience and skills they are gaining through their volunteering activities. The twelve week course provides current and future volunteers with personal/performance skills which provide added value to their role as a volunteer. These skills are transferable and can help to gain further education and employment.
CAS was recently inspected by an external verifier to assess the quality and delivery of its accredited training. They reported that they were “absolutely delighted” with the quality and standard of the accredited courses and said that “CAS has got it right and then some!”
Training courses start from £25 and cover wide range of topics, including first aid, health and safety, safeguarding, youth work, GDPR and funding.
Jacqui Wilkinson, Training and Quality Standards Development Officer at CAS, said:
“Our training is designed to build confidence, resilience and independence of organisations in Suffolk. It is delivered by experienced CAS staff and trusted partners who provide interactive, professional, friendly and engaging courses.
“All our courses will inform participants, enabling them to better serve their local communities. Some of our courses will equip organisations to fulfil some of their statutory and legal responsibilities, such as safeguarding or health and safety.”
