We are deeply saddened by the news that Matthew Percy, who was an active member of UK Youth Parliament in Suffolk between 2012 – 2014, has died.
Matthew was a well-known and committed campaigner in Ipswich and beyond, being involved with a number of organisations, forums and projects both locally and nationally.
Here is what some of our young people who had the pleasure of working alongside Matthew have said:
“He was a champion…we were lucky to have him in Suffolk UKYP”
“Matthew will not become another statistic, he was a truly caring and funny individual who worked tirelessly to give a voice to the vulnerable. He taught me what it was to be a true campaigner”.
“Matthew was dedicated and devoted to helping people & making a difference here in Suffolk. He helped to benefit others.”
Matthew will be truly missed but never forgotten. He was a true inspiration to those he worked with, supported and fought for. Our thoughts and prayers are with Matthew’s family and friends at this time.
