Rebecca describes herself as, ‘I am completely new to working for a charity and in a community building having worked in housing for 10 years. However, the housing experience has helped me to develop skills around community engagement. I also completed my degree in Criminology and Sociology and although the Criminology side of things are not relevant in my current role, the skills I gained from the Sociology half are hugely beneficial’.
Rebecca started working for CaSE Community Trust in January 2020, only 2 months before lockdown, so her role has been very different to what Rebecca expected and says, ‘I, like everyone, have adapted to the “new normal” and greatly rely on social media as an advertising tool. I am no expert in this field, but hope my experience so far can help others in promoting their halls’.
