Community Action Suffolk celebrates its first birthday today (1st April 2014) and reflects on its achievements in a busy 12 months!
Community Action Suffolk was formed a year ago today through the merger of 10 charities. This was one of the most complex and biggest mergers of its kind in the UK, supported by the Big Lottery’s Transforming Local Infrastructure fund, and is seen as one of the most successful ones, here in Suffolk.
Community Action Suffolk continues to have a huge impact on strengthening the Voluntary and Community Sector in Suffolk, and provides support to a diverse number of local groups and communities. 1000s of groups have been able to access on-going support from grant and funding advice, to finding volunteers, to enabling the sector to have a voice within local decision and policy making.
- 557 people attended 63 CAS training courses on 17 different subjects
- 1,500,500 litres of oil were purchased by CAS’s Community Oil Buying members

As we begin our second year, we are pleased to offer a wider range of benefits for our members. We look forward to continue working closely with our members, welcoming new members, running more training courses, reaching more communities and providing services to enable Suffolk’s vibrant Voluntary and Community Sector to thrive.
