Working together to improve the emotional wellbeing and mental health of our children and young people

CYPEW event

Community Action Suffolk and Public Health Suffolk are running a 3 hour workshop aimed at bringing voluntary and community sector organisations together to talk about Suffolk’s plans to transform delivery of emotional wellbeing and mental health services to our children and young people.

Recognising the invaluable work of the VCS, it is crucial to ensure they become an integral part of these plans moving forward. The key objectives of the session include:

1) Sharing the current transformation plan “EWB2020” and providing an opportunity for feedback and ideas on how the plan may develop

2) Beginning a process of mapping the current services available across Suffolk by capturing the key support provided by VCS

3) Setting the scene for a process of continuous engagement and collaboration moving forward with the plan

It is key that the work of the VCS is incorporated into the development of clear pathways for children and young people, and therefore crucial that a good representation of organizations is present

“Our vision is for children and young people in Suffolk to have the best start in life, enjoy good mental health, be resilient and productive, enjoy school, make friends, achieve their full potential and have positive and happy relationships.”

Suffolk Children’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing Strategy (2013-17)

Mental health services are complex but our aim is to establish a joined-up, family focused response to all children, young people and families presenting with emotional, behavioural or mental health needs.  This transformation plan has been developed with health and care organisations, charities, schools , young people, parents and carers and is based on Five Big Ideas and Ten Priorities which we will all deliver together over the next five years.  Find out more here.
